Today, we will be talking about everything to do with cat litter. Make sure you read till the end if you’re having trouble with your pet using its litter box!
Firstly, some people ask if they can use normal sand rather than litter sand. The answer is yes, but there are some cons you should be aware of. For example, sand won’t be able to help minimize the smell. You will then have to change it every single day. So, I recommend using average litter sand if you have an indoor cat.
Some people suggest wooden litter. Wooden litter is basically wooden pallets. I have never used wooden litter, but it is cheap, and you don’t have to put any scent in either. Don’t use clumping litter that has a smell to it. Wooden litter is best because it’s cheap and won’t smell when your cat litters in it. However, it’s a little different, and you will need to learn how to use it.
You must have a suitable litter available for your cat.
If your cat is litter trained but has stopped using its litter box, there could be several reasons why! There could be a physical problem with your cat. In that case, you must take your pet to the vet.
Litter sand plays a massive role in deciding whether your cat will use its litter box or not. So make sure you use the right litter sand and make your pet as comfortable as possible. You must also have the correct litter box available for your cat. It shouldn’t be too big but also, not too small either.
Some owners leave litter trays next to their cat’s food. Cats are very hygienic animals and don’t like anything unhygienic near their food. So don’t make this mistake!
Remember to clean your cat’s litter tray at least once a week. Scoop your kitty’s litter out 2/3 times a day, otherwise, it may not use it!
